Capsulae is a small independent product. This page says plainly what we hold, why, and how to get rid of it. We do not sell anything about you, and there is no advertising or tracking in the app.

Without an account

You can browse and build a Capsule with no account at all. In that case everything — the pieces you keep, the designers you follow, the market you shop, what you have already seen — stays on your phone and never reaches us. Deleting the app deletes it.

With an account

An account exists so your selection follows you from one device to another. We then hold:

• your email address and an encrypted form of your password, handled by our authentication provider — we never see the password itself;
• the profile you write: name, handle, one line of bio, a photo if you add one, and whether your Capsule is public or private;
• the pieces you keep, with their brand, name, price and link;
• who you follow and who follows you, and pending follow requests;
• what you post, and the messages you exchange;
• accounts you have blocked, and any report you send us.

Messages are stored so that both people can read them; they are not end-to-end encrypted, and we can read them if we are investigating a report.

Notifications

If you turn alerts on, your phone checks your own Capsule in the background and tells you when a piece drops in price or comes back in stock. That check happens on your device. We are not told what you were alerted about.

Messages, new followers and follow requests are different: they come from someone else, so they are delivered by Apple's push service. Your device address is held for that purpose alone, and the notification never carries the text of a message — only who it is from, because it appears on a locked screen.

How the app is used

So we can tell which parts of the app are useful and which are not, Capsulae records a small number of named events: which tab you open, which designer or piece you open, when you keep or remove a piece, create a size alert, use a search or a filter, open a shop, change your market, or sign in and out. Each event carries the name of the designer and the screen it happened on — never what you write, never who you follow, never your address.

These events are sent to PostHog, an analytics service we use, hosted in the European Union. With an account, they are attached to a pseudonymous identifier, not to your email. Without an account, they are anonymous. Nothing is combined with data from other apps or websites, and nothing is sold or shared. That is also why Capsulae never asks you to allow tracking: it does not track you across other companies' apps.

You can switch this off at any time — Account → Help improve Capsulae. Switched off, nothing is recorded.

Who else is involved

• Supabase hosts the database and handles sign-in. Data is stored in the European Union.
• The designers' own shops. The app reads their public catalogues directly from your phone, so their servers see a request from your device — the same as if you opened their website. We do not tell them who you are, and we send them nothing about your Capsule.
• Netlify and Cloudflare serve the website and help read a page you share into the app.
• PostHog receives the usage events described above, in the European Union, and nothing else.
• Resend sends our emails (account confirmation, the launch list).

There is no advertising network, and no third party receiving your data for its own purposes.

How long we keep it

As long as your account exists. Delete your account — Account → Delete account in the app — and your profile, your Capsule, your posts and your messages are erased. That cannot be undone. Reports may be kept, without your name attached, for as long as needed to act on them.

Your rights

You can see and change everything about you inside the app, and delete all of it from the same place. If you are in Europe, the GDPR also gives you the right to a copy of your data and to object to how it is used: write to us and we will answer within a month.

Children

Capsulae is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly hold data about them.
